These terms cover your use of Klid at klidpiano.com (“Klid”) and the optional paid licence, Klid Pro. By using Klid you agree to them. If you don’t, please don’t use it.
1. Who we are
Klid is made and run by Lior Goldberg, Israel (“we”, “us”). Contact: hi@klidpiano.com.
2. What Klid is, and what is free
Klid turns a MIDI file into a video of a piano performance, in your browser. Everything runs on your device. Klid is in beta, so features can change, and it may contain bugs.
Klid is free to use. Videos you export with the free version carry a small Klid mark. Klid Pro is a paid licence that removes the mark and unlocks further features (currently: your own logo, your own backgrounds, camera keyframes and 4K export).
3. Klid Pro licence
- You buy Klid Pro once. It includes every 1.x update. A future major version may be sold separately.
- The licence is personal to you. You get a licence key, and you may use it on up to three browsers at a time. You can move it by removing it from one browser first (Klid Pro → “Remove from this browser”).
- Don’t share, sell or publish your key. We may revoke a key that is shared or that was paid for by a payment that was reversed.
- Payments are handled by Polar, who acts as the seller of record and collects any sales tax or VAT. See our refund policy.
4. Your content and the videos you make
Your MIDI files, recordings, images, logos and videos stay yours, and they stay on your device: Klid does not upload them. You are responsible for having the right to use anything you put into Klid, including music, a logo or a background.
You may use the videos you export, including commercially, as long as you follow these terms. Klid’s bundled backgrounds, piano model and other built-in assets may appear in your videos, but you may not extract them and redistribute them on their own.
5. What you may not do
- Copy, resell or redistribute Klid or its built-in assets, or offer them as your own.
- Circumvent the limits of the free version or the licence check.
- Use Klid to break the law or infringe someone else’s rights.
- Interfere with the site or try to overload it.
Nothing here limits the rights that open-source components in Klid give you under their own licences (see section 8).
6. Changes and availability
We may change, pause or stop parts of Klid, and we may update these terms. If we make a material change to the terms we will say so on this page and update the date above. Continued use after that means you accept the new terms.
7. No guarantees, and limits on liability
Klid is provided “as is”, with no promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose. Keep your own copies of anything important, and check an export before you rely on it.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for anything related to Klid is limited to the amount you paid for Klid Pro. This does not exclude or limit any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and it does not affect your mandatory consumer rights.
8. Third-party components
Klid includes open-source and openly licensed components under their own licences, including the FluidSynth synthesiser (LGPL), the piano SoundFont (CC0), the Outfit typeface (SIL OFL) and other libraries. They remain the property of their authors.
9. Ending your access
You can stop using Klid at any time. We may suspend or end access for someone who breaks these terms. Videos you have already exported remain yours.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and the courts of Israel have jurisdiction, except where the law of your country gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
